New Colour Films  - Who said film is dead !

There are several rays of hope for colour negative, paper, and transparency materials!

Kodak Portra

  • Kodak have recently announced their commitment to professional film users by producing enhanced versions of its Portra colour negative film - 160VC, 160NC, 400VC, and 400NC. Each film in the new range will help photographers create images with finer grain, more realistic skin tones and improved scanning performance.
  • This is excellent news for wedding and portrait photographers who prefer to use film for to ensure highest negative quality without purchasing that 22MP digital camera!

Fuji Velvia 50

  • Fuji have announced that they are to re-release Velvia 50 !! - Fuji have been deluged with requests to keep making the world's most famous transparency film, and that Velvia 50 will be back on the shelves soon....
  • A further upside of is that E6 processing will become more popular- at the moment Tetenal are the only company offering E6 chemistry- so who knows we might see some re-entrants into the market !! And of course this should positively impact sales of Ilfochrome paper and developers. Perhaps medium format cameras and enlarging equipment will be sought after !
